City Heights library

The library is at the heart of the academy community and plays a important role in supporting independent reading, learning and thinking.

Library staff value every child and support them in their path towards personal development and academic achievement. The library offers students a quiet and stimulating environment in which to read, learn, study, complete homework and to be creative whilst supporting different learning styles.

The library has an excellent selection of both fiction and non-fiction resources to support a range of interests and reading abilities.

Library Catalogue

Every student can borrow two books at any one time and books can be borrowed for two weeks at a time. Students can renew their loans at the library information desk.

The library has themed displays and activities to both inspire a love of reading and to teach students information skills. The library has laptops that students can use for homework before and after academy hours.

Students in Year 8 to Year 11 are welcome to apply to be Student Library Assistants. Library Assistants help out during break and lunch and play a very important role.
